Please submit photos to MAU, realcheapsports@mindspring.com. We would like to put together a wrap up story on the tournament. Any comments/personal experiences of your time that weekend would be much appreciated. Speaking from the inside of the operations it seemed like it went as well as we could have hoped for. We met the few goals we had; new course dialed, get done before dark on Saturday, try to represent DGA and their ideas for a Steady Ed Series tourney. I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who made it possible. DGA for hooking us up. Tom LaTorre for all the printing, registration…duties. All the Sponsors. The VDGC crew for installing the K.O course. The volunteers like Justin Bruner and all those who helped spotting and scoring. Huge thanks to the Ninja crew and the awesome food. Dan Grimm and the gang for some great music. I want to thank those who traveled a distance to join us. I hope everyone had a good time and if you could respond either to this site or email me would be great. Posted in Course News | 1 Comment »

If you’ve got the time, stop by the Coyote Pointe DGC page at dgcoursereview.com and say a few words about what you dig about the course. While you’re there, you can check out and review other courses you’ve played, add ones that aren’t there yet, even upload pictures if you’ve got ‘em. Neat! posted by chiggins at May 14th, 2007
Attention! Anybody visiting Lake Casitas, please note that the rangers will be issuing tickets for speeding. There will be no more warnings for 1st time offenders as it nears the busy time of the camping season. There can be people in your lane on the many blind curves, so please help make it safe for all and respect the 15 mph limit. Posted in Course News | No Comments »

Greetings and Salutations! The new site is up and ready for action. New features include:
Over the next several weeks, many of the old posts will be migrated over. Unfortunately, migrating all the stories and users from the old Scoop system has proved to be a difficult and non-trivial task, so you’ll probably have to re-register. Once you do, you’ll have access to the post comments, gallery comments and message board. If you’re looking for content from the old site and don’t see it, email admin [at] venturadiscgolf [daht] com and we’ll see what we can do about bringing it over. The old site content will also be available for a while at scoop.venturadiscgolf.com. Enjoy the new site, and thanks for visiting VenturaDiscGolf.com! UPDATE Well! It appears we have our first major bug. Evidently, IE5/5.5/6 doesn’t handle rendering of .png graphic transparencies. Way to go Microsoft! So, until I work out some kind of graphic/javascript solution, I highly encourage everyone to download and use Firefox, or some other browser from the good folks at the Mozilla project (which includes Mozilla, Netscape, and assorted other browsers using the Gecko engine). Why it is that Microsoft products, with the power of the world’s biggest software shop, can’t make a browser that handles common graphics formats and internet standards that have been around for over 10 years, I can’t explain. Apologies for the mess to all you IE users, I’ll see what I can do to give you a usable header and navigation menu. Ah! Okay, so, according to this IE Blog, they have PNG transparency support in IE7. So, for all you die-hard IE users out there, until I figure out a fix for this, if you have the ability and desire to upgrade your IE to version 7, it should work. The javascript, that’s another story. Again, I suppose a decade of published internet standards is difficult if you’re not open-source Posted in Site News | No Comments »
